Sing to Read
Literacy Project, Inc. Workshops and Sponsors
The
Sing to Read Family Literacy, Inc. Workshop is designed to share
with parents of at-risk children the importance of the development
of early
reading skills and teach effective reading strategies that engage
children. The Family Literacy Workshop uses The Sing
to Read Adventure children's storybook
series including 7 storybooks and a musical CD with sing-alongs
for each storybook. The workshop participants
receive the storybook series and CD, therefore expanding the home
book collection. Authors of The Sing to Read Adventure storybook
series and former inner-city kindergarten teachers now volunteers,
Lorraine Long and Mary Lou Roberts, conduct the 2 hour Family Literacy
Workshop.
